On February 26-27, these students took part in Orientation and Integration Day workshops organized by the UM Global Office and the UM Student Department. During these events, the newly appointed rector, Alejandro Cid, delivered a welcoming speech encouraging the newcomers to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with local students and faculty, both in Uruguay and abroad. He wished them success during their time in Uruguay.

Following the welcoming speech, members of UM Global and the University Student Department explained the various extracurricular activities available, including volunteer work, sports, and chaplaincy. At the end of the event, participants enjoyed lunch together and toured UM's campus. On Thursday, they visited the new building at the LATU Innovation Park.

The UM has established over 220 inter-university agreements with universities across 50 countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
