José Antonio Saravia, a History professor at Universidad de Montevideo, attended the University of Hradec Králové from the 11th to the 20th of April on Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility.

During his stay, Saravia lectured on Uruguayan and Argentinean History. He also met with colleagues from the Department of Political Science, Institute of History, and students of the Philosophical Faculty.

The lectures on Uruguayan History were titled "The First Uruguayan constitutional government and the Massacre of Salsipuedes," "Oral History and collective memory of the indigenous people in Uruguay," "History of Uruguayan Liberalism. The Administration of Luis Lacalle Pou: its reforms, progressive laws, and impacts".

The Argentinean history lectures were: "Julio Roca's Conquest of the Desert," "The Radical Civic Union and the Irigoyen governments." "The rise of Juan Domingo Perón and the characteristics of his first government."

The students in attendance gained knowledge of the History of the Rio de la Plata region, its challenges and future predictions. They also learned about updated information on the bibliography available on the region, which was related to the various courses related to Latin America at Hradek Kralove University.

While he was at UHK, Saravia met Bárbara Schilde, Magdalena Collares, and Pía Berruti, three students from Universidad de Montevideo that are currently at the University of Hradec Králové, with an Erasmus+ Grant.

This mobility deepens both institutions' internationalization and intensifies the collaboration between UM and UHK.
