UM best ranked among Uruguayan universities in QSWUR 2024
The University of Montevideo ranked in the QS World University Rankings in its 2024 edition, published by the international rating agency on June 27, 2023.
The ranking issued by Quacquarelli Symonds evaluates the best universities in the world with more than 5,500 universities in the world participating in this edition.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology ranks first; the University of Cambridge second, and in third place Oxford University.
The University of Montevideo has academic cooperation agreements with universities ranked in the first positions, such as the University College of London (UCL) and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU).
Among the Latin American universities in this general ranking, the University of Sao Paulo (USP) was in the first position, followed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). UM ranked twenty-seven among Latin American institutions. Universities are evaluated according to the following six metrics: Academic Reputation (30%), Employer Reputation (15%), Faculty/Student Ratio (10%), Citations per faculty (20%), International Faculty Ratio and International Student Ratio (5% each). This year, the Ranking included three new metrics: sustainability (5%), international research network (5%) and employment outcome (5%).
