The University of Montevideo participated in the EAIE Annual Conference (European Association for Internationalization Education), held in the week of September 25-29 in Rotterdam (Netherlands). The conference brought together more than 2,500 higher education institutions and over 6,000 participants.

Virginia Whitelaw, International Development Manager; Pilar Aznárez, International Student Coordinator; and Pablo Fleurquin, the AI Undergraduate Program director, represented the UM. They met with more than 40 universities, shared experiences, and strengthened international existing ties. Whitelaw highlighted the meetings, especially those with European and Asian partner universities. She said she expects new collaboration agreements to continue adding international programs to all the University's majors.

The UM has 207 agreements with universities in 47 countries. These partnerships include academic exchanges, double degrees, joint research programs, and innovative programs that complement the education provided in Uruguay.
